How to Perform a Hard Reset on a Cansmart

CANsmart Hard Reset Instructions

1.      Turn vehicle ignition off.

2.      Remove fuse from CANsmart battery wire.

3.      Disconnect CANsmart from motorcycle's CANbus connector.

4.      Disconnect CANsmart from USB/computer. Ensure LED indicator is completely off and remains off.

5.      Wait at least 5 minutes.

6.      During this time, uninstall the software from your computer.

7.      Redownload and reinstall the software.

8.      Run the software and wait for the 'connect device to continue' dialog to appear.

9.      Once prompted, plug ONLY the USB cable into CANsmart using the supplied cable. Leave all other connections disconnected.

10.  Reconnect CANsmart to the bike by reconnecting the CANbus connector, then reconnect the fuse.
